About Glendale Sciences & Technology School

Glendale Sciences and Technology School (GSTS) is located in the far northeast corner of Red Deer; a thriving city of 91, 877 people with much to offer. A fantastic place to raise a family, Red Deer is also a great place to visit and do business. Red Deer is situated in the heartland of Alberta directly between Edmonton and Calgary on the Queen Elizabeth Highway.

GSTS is a kindergarten to eighth grade school with 404 students and 23 professional staff members. We also have a full complement of para-professional staff members supporting inquiry learning throughout our school. GSTS is an inquiry-based school focusing on the sciences. We integrate technology in teaching and learning as part of our regular programming. Our fifth to eighth grade students learn in a one to one digital environment, while our kindergarten to fourth gade students have access to two stationary computer labs, classroom-based desktop computers and two wireless laptop carts.

Our school is partnered with the Galileo Educational Network; a University of Calgary initiative designed to create, promote and disseminate innovative teaching, learning and leading practices through research, professional learning and fostering external collaborations. Galileo works with students, teachers, administrators and policy makers across Canada. Our teachers work with Galileo consultants to design and implement action research projects and field studies that enhance teaching and learning making our student's school experience more authentic and engaging. We are also actively seeking local partners within Red Deer to collaborate with as we create expanded learning opportunities for our students outside the school.

We are proud of what we do at Glendale School, and we invite you to give us a call if you have any questions, or if you're interested in collaborating to create optimized learning opportunities for our students. Our contact information can be found on the home page.
